The Province of Bataan is a peninsula which is found in the western part of Luzon between Manila Bay and West Philippine Sea. Bataan has an outstanding cultural and historical background, heritage and history. The province has attractive scenic view and enchanting natural landscapes that describe the wonders of the place. Beautiful mountain ranges, amazing waterfalls, magnificent green valleys, exotic world class beach resorts and a warm hospitality that is truly Filipino.
Bataan has so much to offer that it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines. The province provides the adventure seekers an interesting thing to do because the place proves to be a tourist haven boasting a multitude of exciting places to visit.
Bataan is very significant in the Philippine history because Bataan was among the first provinces to revolt against Spanish regime. Not only that in World War II, Bataan was the last line of defense against invading Japanese forces. Bataan is basically an agricultural province. Farming, fishing and forestry are still the leading sources of livelihood in the province. Rice remained its principal crop. Other than rice, there are other crops produced like corn, legumes (mongo, peanut, sitao), rootcrops (camote, cassava, gabe, ube, arrow roots), vegetable (leafy and fruit), coffee and fruits (mango and banana).
For years, the Division of Bataan has been building and reaping success in almost all aspects of DepEd in providing quality basic education and in laying the foundation of lifelong learning and service for the common good.
In pursuit of success, the Schools Division Superintendent, together with his tandem, the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and his team of Education Program Supervisors, chose to swim upstream, to hurdle over all odds and achieved more than what has been desired. It needed intense planning and work; re-prioritizing and re-allocating of energies with extra drive and determination, and exhibiting awesome responsibility and accountability in turning the blueprint to reality.
Time and again, teachers and other internal and external stakeholders are being encouraged to move together towards one goal – that is molding the functionally literate Filipinos. They have to make significant difference in the learners’ lives. Unpacking series of systematic activities was made fascinating before teachers and as well as the students in all learning areas.
Monitoring and evaluation always complement planning and implementation. Hence, there has been Project LIFE (Learning Instruction Founded on Excellence) which was conceptualized (by the ASDS), to measure progress all along the way and to determine how resources are maximized in the achievement of quality education.
God’s view for the Division of Bataan has been far greater; hence, He has lined up specific tasks for it to accomplish which He has prepared in advance, thus, harvesting triumphs in its entire endeavor.
As the Bible says in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
As part of the continuing efforts of DepEd Bataan in improving its performance and achievements, the Schools Division Superintendent and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent are always at the helm spearheading the implementation of various projects, programs , thrusts and other activities through the assistance of the thirteen (13) Education Program Supervisors , the twelve (12) Public Schools District Supervisors, passed through the 147 Elementary Schools Administrators and thirty (30) Secondary School Principals; thus making calendar year 2012 another year of exemplary achievements of this agency.
DepED Bataan personnel are aware that their dedication in every endeavor are never wasted but yield triumphs not only for themselves but for the ultimate clientele, the learner.
The Schools Division Superintendent and Asst. Schools Division Superintendent are always on the lead of their flock in terms of goals and thrust assigned, coupled with appropriate discipline, love, sympathy, healthy relationships and wisdom.
The Education Program Supervisors , plan and direct the development and operation of its educational programs in the Division. Based on the curriculum and the standards set by DepEd they saw to it go that quality is assured in the achievements in the elementary and secondary levels . Reading levels of pupils and students are always monitored, giving significant tips especially to the teachers of beginning readers.
The Administrative Staff and the Human Resource Management Section, continually direct and supervise the administrative and human resource functions and protects significantly the welfare of the employees of the whole Division.
The Medical and Dental Staff are religiously monitoring, implementing their duties and responsibilities. They are equally deployed in every district and secondary schools to continuously monitor the medical and dental needs of pupils, students, teachers and administrators toward a healthy division resulting to quality performances and achievements.
